Discipleship

If we want to follow Jesus, we need to get ready for life as we never knew it before. But we have to take the road less traveled. Don’t think it’s a simple route. The road leads to Heaven, but it’s mostly uphill. We’re not going to wake up every day feeling amazing, and we definitely won’t get a standing ovation from this world. But we will make it to Heaven on this road, and it’s going to be worth every mile.

Sermon on the Mount

If you want a simple place to learn the way of Jesus, begin here. Read slowly. Pray honestly. Obey what you understand.

Read: Matthew 5–7

At home: We want control. Discipleship puts the home under Christ, where leadership looks like service and love has structure.

At the job: We want to fight our way to the top. Discipleship keeps integrity, even when it costs us a promotion.

In conflict: We want to put people in their places. Discipleship moves toward healing relationships, through forgiveness and mercy, with prayer for restoration.
