Request prayer
Share only what you’re comfortable sharing. Short is fine.
You don’t need anyone between you and Jesus. If you write in, James P. Simmons (serving as a licensed minister) will also pray about your need and Jesus will hear us both. As Scripture says, “Pray one for another… that ye may be healed” (James 5:16, KJV). We’ll pray with you.
What happens next
We’ll pray with you.
If you included an email and asked for a reply, we will respond simply.
If you did not include contact info, we will still pray.
We do not share requests publicly.
Questions & Answers: Coming to Jesus
Plain answers. No pressure. Jesus is not asking you to perform. He is calling you to come.
What if I’ve made a mess of my life?
Jesus does not wait for you to be impressive. He came because we’re not. If you feel ashamed, that’s not proof you should stay away. It’s usually the moment to come closer.
Scripture (KJV):
- Romans 5:8 “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
- 1 Timothy 1:15 “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners…”
Will Jesus really receive someone like me?
Yes. Not “yes, if you promise you’ll never fail again.” Just yes. He receives people who come honestly.
Scripture (KJV):
- John 6:37 “Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
- Isaiah 1:18 “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”
Do I have to clean myself up first?
No. Come as you are. Jesus is not asking you to pretend you’re fine. He’s asking you to stop hiding.
Scripture (KJV):
- 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us…”
- 1 Corinthians 6:11 “But ye are washed… but ye are sanctified…”
What does it mean to “ask Jesus into my heart”?
It means you turn toward Him and say, in plain words: “I need You. I trust You. Lead me.” It’s not magic words. It’s surrender. It’s faith with an open hand.
Scripture (KJV):
- Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…”
- Matthew 11:28 “Come unto me… and I will give you rest.”
What if I don’t feel anything?
Feelings come and go. Mercy is still real. You can come to Jesus with numbness, fear, confusion, and dryness. He does not require a certain emotional temperature.
Scripture (KJV):
- Mark 9:24 “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”
- 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
What should I say to Jesus?
If you want words, keep them honest and simple.
A simple prayer
Jesus, have mercy on me. I have sinned. I cannot fix myself. Forgive me. Wash me clean. I believe You died for me and rose again. Take my life. Lead me. Teach me to follow You, one day at a time. Amen.
Scripture (KJV):
- Luke 18:13 “God be merciful to me a sinner.”
- Romans 10:13 “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
What is repentance, really?
Repentance is a turn. It can start small: telling the truth, dropping excuses, and taking the next clean step. It’s not self-hatred. It’s coming home.
Scripture (KJV):
- Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted…”
- Romans 2:4 “The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance…”
How do I know Jesus forgave me?
You don’t measure forgiveness by your mood. You rest on His promise. If you come to Him, He does not play games with you.
Scripture (KJV):
- 1 John 1:9 “He is faithful and just to forgive…”
- Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation…”
What should I do after I pray?
Keep it plain. Keep it steady. Not performative.
- Read one Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John), a little each day.
- Pray honestly, even if it’s short.
- Obey what you understand today.
- Ask for help when you need it.
Scripture (KJV):
- Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet…”
- John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
What if I fail again?
Then you come back again. Quickly. No speeches. No hiding. Jesus is not asking you to pretend. He’s asking you to return.
Scripture (KJV):
- Hebrews 4:16 “Let us… come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy…”
- Matthew 12:20 “A bruised reed shall he not break…”
Do I have to have the whole future figured out right now?
No. Jesus usually gives enough light for the next step, not the whole map. He’s patient. The point is to follow.
Scripture (KJV):
- Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the LORD… and he shall direct thy paths.”
- Lamentations 3:22–23 “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed…”
Can I ask for prayer without telling my whole story?
Yes. One sentence is enough. God is not confused by short prayers.
Scripture (KJV):
- 1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
A tiny afterward: If all you can manage today is: “Jesus, please help me.” That is not nothing. That is a beginning.

Make Your Requests Known
“In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
